Weetabix Crop Art Competition

Farmers' field sculpture wins TV art award.

NANTWICH farmers Chris and Cheryl Sadler are to receive a cheque for £3,000 after their sculpture of a huge satellite dish, won a national competition. The creative couple from Park Farm, were chosen as the Granada winners of the Weetabix Crop Art Competition.

The contest was a chance for farmers to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary by designing and building a sculpture of wheat bales in their field. The prize mony was offered to the winning farmer in each of the ten television regions across England and Wales.


Company spokesman Ken Wood said: "When the entries began to flood in we were overwhelmed by the sheer creativity on display". "Chris and Cheryl's entry really stood out, perfectly capuring the spirit of the competition.
